Veined Wall Effect

Faux finishes originated in the 18th & 19th centuries at a time when the wealthy commissioned artisans to reproduce exotic surfaces, such as rare mahogany, marble, and gold leaf. A popular faux finish creates a veined wall effect, like that shown left. Faux finished walls are often rich with gold as the primary color and are textured for a vintage look, as shown at right.
