All successful interior design projects start off with a floor plan.

The floor plan is the physical guide to direct contractors, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, installers and other finishers to the details of the project. In most cases, the floor plan must be submitted to a town's planning committee or buildings department in order to obtain Permits to start work on a jobsite. When you decide to work with an Interior Designer or any improvement contractor, make sure your designer presents you with a plan and layout of your project. Caveat: Some jobs may not require a plan, jobs such as window treatments, or finish decoration project, in these cases a sketch or rendering may suffice. Remember,it doesn't matter if it is new facility, a renovation or modification, large job or small job, a plan is warranted!
